The deal is expected to complete by Monday, June 18, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>It is intended to operate the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newarkadvertiser.co.uk\/\">Advertiser<\/a>\u00a0as part of Iliffe Media Midlands, along with other Iliffe titles including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.granthamjournal.co.uk\/\">Grantham Journal<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rutland-times.co.uk\/\">Rutland<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stamfordmercury.co.uk\/\">Stamford Mercury<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spaldingtoday.co.uk\/\">Lincs Free Press, Spalding Guardian<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lynnnews.co.uk\/\">Lynn News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is planned for the printing of these titles to transfer to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iliffeprint.co.uk\/\">Iliffe Print<\/a>\u00a0centre in Cambridge in due course.<\/p>\n<p>Iliffe Media Midlands managing director, Richard Parkinson, said: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/newarkadvertiser.co.uk\/\">The Newark Advertiser<\/a>\u00a0is a strong local newspaper, at the heart of its community. As well as being a great geographical fit with Iliffe Media\u2019s Midlands titles, this is a really strong cultural fit. Like the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newarkadvertiser.co.uk\/\">Advertiser<\/a>, Iliffe Media believes in putting the interests of its readers and advertisers first, with locally-based teams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edward Iliffe, chief executive of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iliffemedia.co.uk\/\">Iliffe Media<\/a>, said \u201cWe are delighted to be acquiring such a well-respected local newspaper as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newarkadvertiser.co.uk\/\">Newark Advertiser<\/a>. At a time when trust in local media is soaring,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iliffemedia.co.uk\/\">Iliffe Media<\/a>, with its long heritage as an independent, family-run media business, is committed to a long-term investment in local newspaper publishing, across all platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deal was handled by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iliffemedia.co.uk\/\">Iliffe Media<\/a>\u00a0board member and media industry adviser, David Fordham. David has worked on all of the group\u2019s previous acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iliffemedia.co.uk\/\">Iliffe Media<\/a>, which publishes the award-winning Cambridge Independent,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iliffemedia.co.uk\/iliffe-media-to-acquire-13-titles-from-johnstone-press\/\">acquired 13 titles from Johnston Press in January 2017<\/a>, and subsequently\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iliffemedia.co.uk\/iliffe-media-ltd-acquires-km-media-group\/\">acquired the KM Media Group<\/a>\u00a0in April 2017.
